Jillian - why be hatin'? Experts will swear running is good for you, other experts scream that it's bad for you; they say coffee is good for you, then it's bad; soy is good for you, soy is bad for you...Back and forth. Who can trust what anyone says about anything? I trust my body, my experience.

The great thing about Bikram - and yoga collectively - is that it encourages you to listen to your body. Bikram is obviously not for you; but I like it, and so does this blogger. I feel better, leaner, taller, flexier (just made that word up!), and healthier. I still do other yoga too, but Bikram lets me push outside my comfort zone a little bit, and I like that I know the routine; it's the only yoga class where I know what's coming, and therefore I can guage my progress.

So if Bikram is not for you, fine, but let others enjoy it if it's their thing. Namaste

Is camping at Lake Keechelus lega something you had to arrange with na office? I'm wondering about camping there on a 2-day ride on the John Wayne trail, but don't want to get kicked off the property in the midle of the night with no other plan.

Thanks,

I just hiket necklace valley with my girlfriend last weekend. Neither of us are too terribly experienced and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We got a late start and didn't reach the trailhead until a little after one, finaly pitching out tent at jade lake around 6:30. We woke up and day hiked up to emerald lake and played up there for a bit before heading back down. I had no idea the Tank Lakes existed or I would have certainly done my best to tough out the extra mileage. That looks amazing! I can't wait until I can get back up there and go all the way this time!

Bikram yoga is NOT good for you. It forces your body by using heat into postures that it is not ready for and can have long lasting, damaging effects. The only reason it feels like its good for you is because you feel exhausted, drained and defeated. This style gives yoga a bad name. Bikram yoga is limited to 26 poses. They are the same every time! There exists 100s of yoga poses that target different muscle groups and when using them in variety is the only way to get a total body workout. Please, do the research! Bikram is taking advantage of yoga's good name and claim to medical benefits and not following through.

I am a certified hatha yoga instructor and experimented with bikram for a year until finally injuring by lower back. I know many others who have been injured and never seemed to get any stronger, thinner, or more balanced. If you are looking for a workout, try ashtanga--if you're looking relief from: stress, anxiety, depression, hypertension, sciatica; try any other form of yoga!! If you like the heat, which was my favorite part, try heated vinyasa flow. Your body and mind will thank you!

The blog is alive again!

What if the nice metronome guy organized guns, knives, and bullets in nice order? Would the weapons and attention to presentation cancel each other out, turning him into marriage material? Because if you look closely, you'll notice all action heroes are extremely anal in this regard.
